When I began my new blogging journey roughly 7 months ago, I merely wanted to share my thoughts about nutrition, and write about something which I throughly enjoy. I could never have imagined where this journey would take me!
A number of weeks ago I was contacted by Health Central who asked me to write for them as the dietitian on their MyHeartCentral and CholesterolNetwork sites. The HealthCentral Network is a wonderful resource, which endeavors to help individuals manage and improve their health, by connecting them with health care professionals and expert patients.
I am very excited to say that I did accept this offer, and am really looking forward to writing for the network. I’m hoping to discuss a range of different topics specifically relating to healthy eating for heart disease, however I also want to discuss a range of general topics as well.
My first three posts are up now, as well as my new quiz, so please do check them out. As always, I’d love to hear from you both here at Dietriffic, and also over at Health Central.
- Are You at Risk of Developing Heart Disease?
- Six Basic Steps to a Healthier Heart
- The Lowdown on Saturated and Trans Fats
- Test your nutrition knowledge with the Smarts Quiz
Best wishes!

Mel, this is absolutely fantastic news! Congratulations to you on this new adventure and I know you will do an outstanding job.
It is amazing to see how blogging can open doors for you into areas that you never even thought about when you wrote that first post. I experienced that myself with my partnership with eMomsAtHome.com so I can appreciate your excitement!
Congrats again, you deserve it!
Congratulations Melanie – great news. I’m behind on my blog reading but I’ll head over to Health Central in the next couple of days.
WELL DONE.
Derek – thank you so much for your support. Blogging is definitely a brilliant opportunity, I suppose the majority of people are extremely clued into technology these days – the internet opens up so much potential because of this. Anyway, hope you’re getting on well at eMomsAtHome too!!
Kathryn – thank you once again. I sympathise with you on keeping up with blog reading – it can be difficult!!
I read somewhere that you shouldn’t visit your RSS feeds more than once a day, as it can distract too much. However, I find that if I don’t keep on top of them, I end up reading only a few at the end of the day, therefore I’m missing good content!
Any thoughts Derek?? In terms time management – do you read all of your feeds at the end of the day, or at intervals throughout?
