Hi Sarah - many thanks for your comments! Yes, this is definitely an issue that many people face. It's difficult not to come across as being patronising too. At least your neighbour knew that you were there if he needed anything!

I checked out the LINK Response website, and it seems to be a brilliant system - what wonderful independence for the elderly.

Yes, the diet and nutrition of our elderly neighbors is definitely a concern. My elderly neighbour did not eat his meals on time and me checking on him just made him feel like he could not take care of himself Then I thought there have to be other ways to help them without stomping on their independence. I came across a website called ResponseLINK and thought how wonderful that it would be if my elderly neighbor was able to afford this system. Not only did they offer meal and prescription reminders, they also offer wellness checks. Whether he was able to speak or not, all he would need to do is push the button on his pendant and a trained operator with all of his health information would respond to assess the situation and call the appropriate people. I really think if more senior citizens
