For ex. 4 bananas cost $3.99, a quarter pound of chicken meat is $4.20-$6.20, carrot $2.30 for 2 Something that has helped me to completely eliminate waste and reduce my food bill is to buy fruits and vegetable close to closing time when they are marked down. I wash them as soon as I get home and peel, dice and freeze the portions I cannot use in 2 days. The frozen fruits I use to make smoothies, and the frozen veggies have endless possibilities.
