This is a great story of the ultimate sportsmanship during a Western Oregon and Central Washington softball girls game.

It’s wonderful to see that in an age when many athletes only think of themselves, there are some who’s love of the game overrules. Truly inspirational!

Beautiful story Mel, really heart warming… I believe we’re all basically ‘good’ and want to help each other at the deepest level. Unfortunately I think bitter life experiences often buries that basic instinct to want to help and support others. But I think it’s there in everyone. ~ James
Very nice message… You don’t get to see these kinds of things publicized as much as they really should be. Maybe it would make more of this happen more often.
It’s too bad the news programs are generally filled with doom and gloom. At the beginning of the news segments they give you a synopsis of the big stories of the day, with one feel-good story listed. This one is always the last story just before they sign off… I guess this is a way to end on a high note, but it seems to be more for their ratings than anything else. It would be nice to see this change.

Hi FYI,
Yes, you’re right, it seems like everytime you turn on the TV it’s more bad news, but there really are good things happening too!
