6 Simple Ways to Avoid Bad Eating Habits

Do you gulp down your food without really thinking about it?

It’s very easy to eat in this way and succumb to bad eating habits with so much going on in our lives. But, it’s important to be mindful of what we put in our mouths.

When you become more aware of what you’re eating, you’re more likely to feel satisfied with your food, and as a result you’re less likely to binge eat.

Today’s challenge is to spend time on your meals, and avoid some of the common pitfalls!

Try to slow down, savour the flavours and textures of your food, and be thankful that you have food on your plate.

6 simple ways to avoid common bad eating habits:

#1 Always use a plate, knife and fork, rather than eating from the tub or packet

#2 Take small bites, and chew carefully

#3 Eat sitting down

#4 Put your knife and fork down between each bite

#5 Allow adequate time over each meal, try not to rush

#6 Eat away from your desk, computer, books, or TV

Are you aware of any other habits people get into which should be avoided?

Excellent tips on avoiding bad eating habits. It is indeed very useful for disciplining my 12 year old son, who has really bad eating habits. In fact it is really difficult for me to make him sit and eat away from his computer, books, or TV. Not only is that he never takes small bites and chews the food properly.
