Japanese Elegance,
I like your interpretation of point one, I definitely agree that you can learn much from mistakes, just don't dwell on them.

Best wishes for your 30 day challenge!

I will have to agree with the others above. I never thought about it but #1 Forget about yesterday was truly helpful. I think though we can learn from our mistakes from yesterday and how miserable we felt for not having used our time wisely to do more important tasks. I think I would like to think of it as ' Forgive ourselves for yesterday'.
I am participating in the 30 day challenges at The Power of Less website and this tip will indeed prove helpful.
Thanks a lot

Hi Haider,
A trap we all fall into for sure! You've hit the nail on the head when you said you are now telling everyone about your new priority - accountabilty is extremely powerful! Best wishes for that!

Hey Cathy,
It's definitely very important to take time out to re-charge your batteries, especially when you're working or studying really hard.

I can remember this time last year when my husband and I took a much need holiday around Australia, it was honestly the most needed break we've ever had, but afterwards we felt completely ready to take on the year! :-) It's amazing what a few weeks out of your normal schedule can do for you.

Best wishes for your studies this year.

a whole heap of things have given me the tools to change my lifestyle....one of them, might not seem terribly signficant to many of you

that was taking the Summer off from studying. Last year I went to Summer School and by the end of the year (Nov 08) I was bushed. I had some time of course, but 2 or 3 wks here and there wasn't enough.....most of those breaks was used running around the first week, getting a bug the next and the going back jaded. Inspired to get going but it wasn't enough

I have been on my Summer hols since mid Nov and I'm not due back until 2 March....I have 'done' a hellva lot this Summer although I didn't ever go away (other than an overnighter!) - I have had a big Spring Clear UP and now it's time to get in a 'bin' to take it away.....I've had days out......I've been to the Gym......i've walked a lot and I feel it's been a great way to 'rejig' me.

I had a lot of personal decisions to make as well.....none of it 'urgent' but still had to think them through....I think I've made about 90% progress on making the right decision at this point in time! :-)

If I missed a day I would lose my enthusiasm, I didn't treat the gym as top priority and decided to fit it around other commitments (rather than scheduling a time for it), family commitments and a string of other excuses that diluted my commitment.

I am now making the gym a priority and communicating this to everyone I know :)

Hi Slacker,
Glad they were useful!

Hey Fitness Surfer,
Yeah, these tips can certainly be applied to all areas of life! :-)

Hi Ashley,
It's such a simple step, but really so effective. The more we focus on the bad things, the worse it gets and then we start to feel even more terrible - it's just not worth it.

Hi Haider,
That's the right attitude, just keep that frame of mind up and you definitely will do it! What was your reasoning in the past for giving up?

Dear Melanie,

I find the "Forget about yesterday" point extremely relevant to me.

I recently joined the gym but was initially reluctant because I've joined the gym several times before, but would stop going around 10 days into my one-month membership!

I thought I might be wasting my money (again), but then dismissed the thought and chose to focus on the present instead. I still haven't passed the 10-day mark, but I'm sure I can do it :D

Haider

Great tips! especially forgetting about yesterday, i feel like when you slip up its so easy to get into a downwards spiral and let it get out of control. This simple step eliminates that! thanks!
