To me every hour of the day and night is an unspeakably perfect miracle.

If you’ve got a bit of a tendency to grumble, here’s a reason to give that up for good…

According to researchers, optimists live longer, healthier lives than pessimists.

Of 100,000 women in the Women’s Health Initiative study, those who were more “optimistic” were 14 percent less likely than pessimists to die during the study’s first eight years. And, they were 30 percent less likely to die from heart disease after eight years of follow up in the study.

Optimists were also less likely to have high blood pressure, diabetes or smoke cigarettes.

According to Hilary Tindle, MD,

Optimists are master copers… They have strong social networks and handle stress better, which could make a difference.

Something to think about next time we go to have a little grumble about whatever’s bothering us! ;-)
