How Dietriffic (and Melanie) Will Help You Live a Healthy Lifestyle

Health, diet, and fitness websites are a dime a dozen.

Most of them either grossly inaccurate, extremely biased, or like something that just jumped out of a university paper.

Cold, dull, and devoid of any personality. Ugh!

And that’s why thousands choose to subscribe to Dietriffic.

Because here they don’t get the 300-500 word cookie-cutter articles that are churned out all over the Internet.

Instead, they get well researched, 800-2,500 word feature commentaries on real issues, presented with no bias to current trends, no fluff, and no blind following of ‘official government findings’.

Just the facts, presented in a personable way.

The unveiling of that which has been proven, and the exposing of that which is fantasy in a manner that is readable and understandable to all.

So, why not join thousands of other people who are staying up to date with real issues and practical health advice?

About Melanie Thomassian

melDietriffic was founded in March 2007 by Melanie Thomassian, a graduate from the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland, with a BSc honors degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.

As a Registered Dietitian, Melanie is a member of the British Dietetic Association, and registered with the Health Professionals Council.

She therefore operates within the guidelines of the “Code of Conduct” for dietitians, and any advice or recommendations found on this site are “evidence based,” to the best of her knowledge.

As you’ve probably already judged from the content on the site, you’ll find her approach to nutrition and overall health is extremely effective, and not at all in line with the common approach of todays consumer-driven market.

As a wife, mum of two, and business owner, she knows only too well how the pressures of life can quench good intentions. In spite of this, she makes a healthy lifestyle attainable, sustainable, and easy with her approach of rational moderation.

While she makes a living teaching about good nutrition, weight loss, etc, she doesn’t believe life and happiness completely depend upon a rigorous and restrictive diet. Rather, a healthy lifestyle is merely the vehicle to help you enjoy the more important things in life.

Why ‘Dietriffic’?

This site originally started because Melanie’s husband thought it would be good for her as a Dietitian to write regularly on topics of her expertise to keep her mind sharp and up-to-date with the trends and information within nutrition and health.

She chose the name (pronounced, dy-i-triff-ik) because it was fun and different. She probably should have went with ‘healthy eating expert’ as it’s easier to spell when passed on via word-of-mouth, but hey, it’s 5 years on and it hasn’t held her back too much.

Other Work…

From May ’09 until April ’11, Melanie was the editor at the well respected site Diet-Blog.com and contributed many articles. She is also an expert writer for HealthCentral.com.
