About Mel

Welcome to Dietriffic - the blog that helps you achieve a healthier lifestyle!

About me!

MelMy name is Melanie Thomassian, and I’m the dietitian behind this blog. Currently I live in South Australia with my lovely husband Armen, but originally I’m a Northern Irish girl!

I know that many people are completely disheartened by the confusing nutritional information, so prevalent today. But, as a dietitian, I’m passionate about nutrition, and desire that others have a better understanding of what it means to “eat well!”

Therefore, the aim of this blog is to reduce some of the confusion, by providing trustworthy, reliable advice.

This site is dedicated to helping others learn new skills, promote healthier lifestyles, and share their experiences.

The technicalities

Graduated from the University of Ulster, in Northern Ireland, with a BSc honors degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, member of the British Dietetic Association, and registered with the Health Professionals Council. I operate within the guidelines of the “Code of Conduct” for dietitians, and any advice, or recommendations, found on this site are “evidence based,” to the best of my knowledge.

Recently I entered into an exciting new venture, and began writing for My Heart Central and the Cholesterol Network. On both sites I’ll be discussing the nutritional aspects relating to heart disease, promoting lifestyle recommendations, and much more! Check out the Health Central Network for a wealth of sound information.

I trust this has given you a glimpse of who I am, and what I do. If you’re on a quest for a healthier lifestyle I’d love to keep in touch, you can subscribe to this blog via RSS or email to keep up-to-date on my most recent articles.

If you’d like to connect with me socially you can do so on Facebook, or on the new Dietriffic Group.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries, comments or suggestions. I’d love to hear from you!
